## Correction to the earlier bullet
The existing subtask says **"both 29 ft-lb"**. That is the *front differential* figure, not these two units.
Per the Toyota/Lexus service data:
- **Transfer case — drain and fill plugs: 27 ft-lb (36 N·m)**
- **Rear differential — drain and fill plugs: 36 ft-lb (49 N·m)**

29 ft-lb is wrong for both. Over-torquing the transfer case plugs is how the aluminium case threads get pulled.

**The washers are two different parts.** The transfer case plug uses an aluminium flat gasket; the rear diff
uses the shaped metal gasket **12157-10010**. Do not buy one number assuming it fits both — a wrong washer
on a 0.45 L case is a slow leak onto the exhaust.

## What this actually means
At the quantity needed (**~0.95 L total** — 0.45 L transfer case + 0.5 L rear diff), shipping decides the winner:
- 2 × AMSOIL = $60.18 **+ shipping** (under the $130 free-shipping threshold) → lands near **$75-80**
- 2 × Red Line = $72.00 **+ shipping** from Laval → near **$85**
- 2 × Toyota LT 1 L at the dealer counter = **$77.86, no shipping, and you collect it the same visit**

**So the dealer is no longer the expensive option once you only need two litres.** The earlier assumption that
the parts counter would be marked up does not hold at 2 quarts.

## Recommendation
Buy **2 × Toyota Genuine LT 75W-85 (1 L)** at a Lexus/Toyota parts counter — factory fill, no shipping, no
wait, ~$78. If AMSOIL is already in a cart over $130, the Severe Gear at $30.09 is the cheaper fluid and is a
legitimate GL-5 75W-85 substitute.

## Still worth confirming on the phone
Whether they have the **aluminium transfer-case plug gaskets** on the shelf at the same time — those are
consumables and are frequently not in stock.
