Costco member pricing (legalwills.ca/costco) is $69.95 individual / $99.95 couple for the full will + POA + living will bundle — cheaper than the public Premium price for a couple, and worth using if he has a membership.

Add-ons that matter: print and mail $14.95/document, virtual witnessing in Ontario via NotaryPro (LegalWills does not do its own), and document review $69 — not available to Ontario residents.

The three findings that decide it

  1. LegalWills is the cheapest by a wide margin and is not the weakest on features. It is the only one of the four that lets him set a different trust age and staged payout for each of the two children — Erish born 2019 and Aira born 2021 will hit 25 six years apart, and a single shared age (Willful) or one age for all (Epilogue) does not fit that.
  2. Free updates for life is worth less than it looks, and LegalWills is still cheaper. Willful's free-for- life updates cost $129; LegalWills' will plus a $59.95 lifetime membership is $109.90.
  3. Epilogue has no refund and charges $119-$249 extra for Ontario video witnessing — the most expensive path to a signed document of the four.

What none of them solves

No online service offers a primary + secondary will, which is the structure that keeps private corporation shares out of Ontario's Estate Administration Tax ($15 per $1,000 above $50,000). For a business owner that is the single largest line item in the plan — see the note in the Wilful task.

Recommendation

If going online: LegalWills Premium at $99.95 (will + POA for property + living will), or the Costco couples bundle at $99.95 for two — and take the $59.95 lifetime membership only if he actually expects to amend it. Skip Epilogue on price and refund policy, and skip LawDepot (a subscription is the wrong model for a document you sign once).

Then have it reviewed by a lawyer anyway if the clinic shares go in — the online document will need redoing at that point.
